Kotipizza and Kuori
Kotipizza digitises its kitchens – Kuori builds the operational backbone for the Nordics’ largest pizza chain
Kotipizza's Digi Kitchen initiative was driven by a clear vision: to create one unified view of all orders and build a hardware setup that performs reliably in a high-volume QSR environment. To bring this vision to life, Kotipizza selected Kuori to develop a fully integrated hardware ecosystem that scales consistently across hundreds of locations.
Unifying operations across POS and online channels
Before the transition, Kotipizza saw clear opportunities to streamline operations to better support growth and customer experience. Orders from different channels, such as POS and online, were handled through separate workflows, often involving paper tickets and printouts. At the same time, legacy hardware like printers was not always ideal for the pace and conditions of a busy kitchen, and managing multiple inputs made it harder to maintain a clear real-time overview.
It became evident that software alone wouldn’t be enough. What was needed was a solution where hardware and software are designed together and proven in real kitchen environments.
“To support future growth and the rise of online sales and new channels, we needed a system that could scale and evolve with us.”

Collaborative development of a scalable hardware solution
The collaboration between Kotipizza, Kuori, and software partners started hands-on. Early hardware was tested in Kotipizza’s test kitchen, allowing the teams to validate the solution in a real operational environment and identify bottlenecks early.
Based on these learnings, the hardware was refined before large-scale deployment. Once validated, the rollout progressed rapidly, reaching up to four restaurants per day across Finland.
“We didn’t have a finished hardware concept – and neither did Kuori. We were listened to, and the solution was built together.” — Juha Vanhamäki
Custom kitchen display and POS hardware for high-volume QSR environments
At the core of the solution are two key components: 21.5” Kuori Kitchen Displays for back-of-house operations and modern POS terminals with 21.5” cashier screens and 10” customer-facing displays. Together, they connect order intake and kitchen execution into one unified system.
The hardware is purpose-built for the realities of a pizza kitchen, including heat, grease, and peak-time pressure. Today, the solution spans over 700 devices across the chain, with all order channels feeding into a shared real-time view.
For Kotipizza, the decision came down to more than specifications. It was about trust, collaboration, and the ability to execute at scale.

Improving efficiency and real-time visibility in kitchen operations
The transformation has enabled a more data-driven way of working, built through close collaboration between software and hardware.
Operations are smoother, with less friction in order handling and kitchen workflows. Efficiency gains are primarily driven by software, while reliable hardware ensures consistent performance.
Real-time throughput data improves visibility across the chain and supports better staffing decisions and continuous optimization.
The platform provides a future-ready foundation, enabling Kotipizza to continuously evolve its operations while meeting rising consumer expectations.
“There’s a constant sense of safety: a solution will be found. Software vendors and hardware manufacturers rarely work together. Here, they truly do.” — Juha Vanhamäki
