Zenniz and Kuori: outdoor Android touch displays transform smart tennis courts

Zenniz is a Finnish sports technology company bringing professional-grade tennis analytics to every player. Its smart-court system combines sensors, cameras, and AI to capture every movement in real time, giving players and coaches instant feedback through interactive visuals, heatmaps, and performance statistics — all via its Android-based platform. Zenniz’s goal is to make advanced analytics accessible to all levels of tennis, from professionals to everyday players.

Challenge – bringing tennis analytics outdoors

When Zenniz began scaling internationally, the company quickly discovered a major technical limitation: displays. Zenniz had first focused on indoor installations, but most tennis courts around the world are located outdoors.

To scale effectively, Zenniz required a display that would stay visible and reliable under full sun, heat, and changing weather. It also needed to be fully touch-enabled so players could interact directly with match data on the court.

Finding a partner capable of building such a display proved difficult. In the end, Kuori was the only company able to deliver a solution that met all technical and environmental requirements.

“We quickly realized there simply weren’t options. Everything else was either a bulky industrial box or couldn’t survive outdoors. We needed something weatherproof, durable, and Android-compatible. Kuori was the only one who could provide it.” — Joni Salonen, Head of Hardware, Zenniz

At Kuori, we saw this challenge as an opportunity to design a display purpose-built for outdoor environments, combining durability, sunlight readability, and native Android performance.

Solution – 21.5-inch outdoor Android touch display built for performance

Kuori answered the challenge by delivering a 21.5-inch outdoor Android touch display designed for outdoor environments. The screen maintains full visibility even in bright sunlight and responds smoothly to touch, allowing players to browse data, replay videos, and review stats right at the court.

The device combines high brightness, optical clarity, and weather-resistant durability with a modern, professional look that fits seamlessly with Zenniz’s brand.

Thanks to Android compatibility and responsive touch controls, Zenniz could deploy their system instantly — plug in, connect and play.

Deployment and results – from Finland to global tennis courts

The first Kuori outdoor tablet was installed in Spain in March 2025, marking the start of a rapid global rollout. Within months, installations followed in Finland, Denmark, Bulgaria, Romania, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, and the United States.

The devices have performed flawlessly. They stay outside all year and are practically maintenance-free. We’ve never had to open a single Kuori tablet for a repair.  — Oiva Aaltonen, Global Field Operations Technician, Zenniz

Durability and reliability have been key advantages. Kuori’s tablets remain fully functional year-round without extra housing or maintenance, offering significant cost and convenience benefits for clubs.

The 21.5-inch touch display provides ample space to view analytics, shot maps, and match videos even under direct sunlight, enabling intuitive and hands-on use for all skill levels.

Collaboration – a seamless partnership for growth

For Zenniz, partnering with another Finnish company made collaboration simple. Kuori’s responsiveness and deep understanding of both hardware and software were essential throughout the project, and its strong track record in sports technology gave Zenniz confidence from the start.

“Working with Kuori has been effortless. Their team understands both the technology and the realities of field deployment, which made communication and problem-solving fast and professional. Everything promised has been delivered exactly as agreed.”
— Joni Salonen, Head of Hardware, Zenniz

Kuori’s flexibility and Android expertise ensured seamless integration into Zenniz’s ecosystem — no middleware, no compromises. As installations expand globally, the companies are now developing new display versions to serve a wider range of tennis environments.

“It’s been a genuinely collaborative process from the start. The Zenniz team has a clear vision, technical understanding, and an open mindset that makes cooperation smooth and productive. Both teams have worked seamlessly toward the same goal.” – Ari Tervonen, Product Manager, Kuori

Together, Zenniz and Kuori show how Finnish innovation can redefine the intersection of sport and technology, enabling a smarter and more connected tennis experience.
